or centuries, scholars and professionals have embarked on long educational journeys with their mentors after graduation. These immersive experiences, often called “Grand Tours,” have historically been instrumental in shaping the worldviews and careers of young graduates. Inspired by this tradition, Oxhar Business School is set to launch an innovative initiative: the Great Trails program—a transformative journey for its Postgraduate Program (PGP) graduates across India and the GCC.

The Legacy of Learning Through Travel

The concept of post-graduation tours can be traced back to ancient times when students would travel with their mentors to gain real-world insights beyond their academic training. In the past, European scholars undertook the “Grand Tour,” a journey across cultural and economic hubs to deepen their understanding of arts, politics, and commerce. Similarly, in India, students in the Guru-Shishya tradition would accompany their teachers to various regions, absorbing wisdom and practical knowledge along the way.

Oxhar Business School’s Great Trails Initiative

Recognizing the significance of experiential learning, Oxhar Business School is launching Great Trails, a curated months-long journey for PGP graduates. This initiative aims to integrate culture, language, and business—key pillars of modern global leadership. Graduates will explore dynamic business environments while immersing themselves in the local traditions of India and the GCC.

Objectives of the Great Trails Program

    1. Cultural Immersion – Understanding the diverse traditions, histories, and societal structures that influence business practices.
    2. Language Proficiency – Enhancing communication skills through exposure to regional languages such as Arabic, Hindi, and other dialects.
    3. Business Exposure – Engaging with industry leaders, startups, and multinational corporations to gain practical insights into global markets.
    4. Networking Opportunities – Building relationships with business leaders, alumni, and professionals across industries.
    5. Entrepreneurial Mindset Development – Encouraging innovative thinking by experiencing different economic ecosystems.

The Journey Across India and the GCC

The Great Trails journey will span across major cultural and business hubs, offering graduates a holistic view of the interconnected global economy.

    Key Destinations in India:

    • Mumbai – India’s financial capital, home to the stock exchange, fintech firms, and Bollywood’s creative economy.
    • Bangalore – The heart of India’s startup ecosystem and IT innovation hub.
    • Delhi – A mix of politics, culture, and corporate headquarters of multinational giants.
    • Kerala – Exploring sustainable tourism and Ayurveda-based business models.
    • Gujarat – A major center for trade, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship.

    Key Destinations in the GCC:

    • Dubai, UAE – A global business hub with a strong presence of finance, technology, and real estate sectors.
    • Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – The emerging powerhouse of Vision 2030 and business transformation.
    • Doha, Qatar – A center for energy, investments, and international diplomacy.
    • Kuwait City, Kuwait – A blend of traditional trading roots and modern financial prowess.
    • Manama, Bahrain – A financial hub with a growing fintech and logistics industry.

    Mentorship and Industry Engagement

Each participant will be paired with experienced mentors—industry veterans, entrepreneurs, and business strategists—who will guide them through this learning journey. The program will include:

    • Company Visits – Exploring the operations of leading corporations and startups.
    • Workshops & Masterclasses – Learning from top executives and market experts.
    • Cultural Exchanges – Participating in traditional festivals, business etiquette training, and community engagements.
    • Language Bootcamps – Enhancing professional language skills for better cross-border communication.

    Impact and Future Prospects

By the end of the Great Trails journey, Oxhar’s PGP graduates will have gained a profound understanding of international markets, cultural adaptability, and business acumen. This program is expected to create globally competent leaders who are not only skilled professionals but also culturally intelligent individuals capable of driving meaningful change in their industries.

Oxhar Business School’s initiative is a step toward redefining business education by merging academic excellence with real-world exposure. The Great Trails program will not only shape future business leaders but also build a bridge between the evolving markets of India and the GCC, fostering collaboration, innovation, and cross-border opportunities.

With this groundbreaking approach, Oxhar is set to revolutionize postgraduate education, offering an unparalleled learning experience that extends far beyond the classroom. The Great Trails program is more than a journey—it is a gateway to a world of endless possibilities.
